Question... I've decided I'm going to be building some deck furniture, and I like this design. That said, and I ask because I haven't seen anyone do this, why not connect the armrest and front leg with two 45s? Then the grain isn't exposed and the sharp edge can be rounded over. Is this a bad idea? Is that why no one does it?

You're blaming the wrong issue. You started with dry wood and built it after it rehydrated. Stop blaming the wood. Air dried lumber is just fine. Wood moves the same no matter how it's dried when compared at the same moisture content. And a kiln in your basement is not a great idea. Do it in a garage or sealed outside.

When I heard you say you were doing beginners woodworking videos, I subscribed. I'm a Welder by trade but am looking to expand my skill set. I personally love the icon tools from them. Expensive, but they are solid. The pittsburgh crescent wrench is also very good for what I use them for.

Funny story, I made a side table for a client that I had to hold onto for a bit. My daughter used it for a nightstand after she got home from college for the summer until my client picked it up. I tell her find a design she likes and I’ll build it, and she sends the thumbnail from this video. I’m like I know who that dude is, I watch all his videos lol. She wanted 1x for the top instead of 2x, but that’s the only design change we made. She’s loving it in her room.

How was that table finished? Maybe if it were completely encapsulated with good quality polyurethane varnish I would have prevented any wood movement

2 fence pickets I put 4 together over the weekend. Posted them on marketplace. I put my twist on them and painted the legs and top trim black. In 10 days, I sold 30 plus 6 custom planters. As a hobby, this was easy money, $1050. Thanks for the awesome video.

what's the best way to make a stopper for when the drawer is pulled so the whole thing don't fall out from the front

I like the project overall. I just think saying making it beginner friendly then immediately onto a tablesaw is 2 massively different things. I see a table saw and immediately move onto the next project

How long should you let the pickets dryout..I let them dry for a couple days but gaps are now showing between the two horizontal pieces, some as large as 1/4 inch..it even separated the glue. I like to glue the two pieces together before putting the sides on..

if you could find a way to compress that pine wood on a roller press, pretty sure you can make a nice tight wood grain look! light hard wood!

Just made one for the wife and it turned out awesome. I passed all pickets through the planer multiple times to make it smooth, which made a HUGE difference if you’re going to stain like I did. Tks!
